A small gathering of your closest friends and family, hamburgers and hotdogs, and a large barbecue– doesn’t it all just feel like summer? Unfortunately, your fun party may end up becoming a nightmare once you see the state your grill is in!
Fortunately, you don’t have to hang up your spatula as there are quite a few ways you can get your grill clean again with minimal effort. In less than five minutes, your appliance is as good as new!
*Clean your grill right after preheating and while it is still warm. The heat enables the grease and residue to come off with minimal effort.
*Did you know that a run-of-the-mill onion can also help you clean? Cut an onion in half, impale it on a fork, and slide it over the grill while the grill is still warm. This will scrape off any remaining grime.
*Some people prefer to clean a grill with warm soapy water, which is fine, but the metal parts are more susceptible to rusting this way. A simple method for combating rust is drying the grill after getting it wet and applying a protective layer of vegetable oil.
*For charcoal grill users, whatever you do, don’t throw cold water on the grill! It cools down the coal faster, but it also creates a large mess that’s not easy to clean.
*Beer is another great cleaner. Pour it over a heated grill and use newspaper to rub off the excess.
*Baking soda is a fantastic solution for getting off pieces of stuck food and grease. Create a baking soda paste by applying water and rubbing it with tin foil over the surface of the grill.
